Best places

This page lists the best places for gathering items or performing skills. Did you ever wonder which is the best place to make Fire Essences? Or the best places to train on a certain creature? Here is where to search for it and add better locations if you find any.

Be warned: This is not primarily intended for beginners - often these places require you to travel to Irilion (C2) and some medium fighting skills to scare off monsters. Almost all locations in Irilion have the possibility of Leonard (alpha) appearing from 03:30 to 00:30.

Harvesting

There are tons of places to harvest things, but there are always some spots which are much better than others.

Black Rose

Only a short walk to the outdoor storage.

Somewhat away from the outdoor storage.

Blue Berries

  • Portland (C1) 00:35

Just east of the town of Portland.

The quickest place on either continent and outdoor storage as well.

Blue Lupine

The double speed flowers are found on the path to the flower shop.

The double speed flowers are found just over border from Naralik outside storage. Great for those with Monster Magnetism Perk or who are no longer bothered by chimerans.

Blue Star Flower

Just 15 seconds from storage with double speed harvesting.

Directly outside of the storage entrance along the fence.

Cactus

The cactus is located right in front of the storage entrance.

Chrysanthemum

Outdoor storage using double speed speed harvest.

Single speed harvest, but half the distance from outdoor storage as Morcraven Marsh.

Harvest at double speed with a short walk to the outdoor storage.

Cinnabar

These caves in northwest Glacmor are your quickest option at 2 minutes, using the Irinveron storage via the teleport spots in Irin from north Glac exit to the southwest area.

Coal

In the north of White Stone, close to the Nordcarn exit, there is a cave with Gargoyles and Imps, Quartz, Blue Quartz, Rose Quartz and Diamond. Right at the entry you can find Coal, if it is full of harvesters, there is another one located over toward the wall with the Diamonds. The closest storage is Nordcarn storage. This location is much closer than the location in Desert Pines.

With only two rats to annoy you and with a short walk to an outdoor storage, this is a great place to harvest coal on Irilion.

Cotton

Hop the boat to VotD outdoor storage. Much faster than going to Desert Pines storage.

Daffodils

Directly along the side of the storage building.

Dandelion

Hop the boat to VotD outdoor storage. Much faster than going to Desert Pines storage.

Diamond

Diamonds, Blue Quartz, Quartz, Rose Quartz and Coal abound in this cave at the middle top of White Stone. Nordcarn storage is just a short walk away, after the map change, and is much faster than going down to White Stone storage.

The diamond is located in the sewers, suspended in mid-air above an elaborate quartz garland. Storage is also located in the sewers, although you do need to use the Teleport to Range Spell to reach it.

Emerald

The room containing the emeralds has no creatures or monsters in it, so you can safely switch from Monster Magnetism Cloak to Excavator Cape so as to harvest faster. Warning: Just remember to put Monster Magnetism Cloak back on before leaving the Emerald room.

Though the entrance to the caves is a secret, this cave is very close to Viorica's outdoor storage. And with the only monster being Armed Skeletons, many adventurers may not even need the Monster Magnetism Perk or Monster Magnetism Cloak to harvest here safely.

Fruit

20 seconds from storage with only Bob the Gob (and his clone) to watch out for.

Directly under and on a tree outside of storage within the fenced area.

Gypsum

Arius is the only location where gypsum can be found, thus the best place by default.

Henbane

Conveniently located close to the outdoor storage.

An extremely short walk to the storage.

Impatiens

Outdoor storage using double speed speed harvest.

Single speed harvest, but half the distance from outdoor storage as Morcraven Marsh.

Mixed fast and slow Impatiens in planter not far from storage so pick carefully.

Iron Ore

Naralik Catacombs is the best place on C1 but Armed Male Orcs and Armed Female Orcs roam there so not much fun for low-level characters.

Though the entrance to the caves is a secret, this cave is very close to Viorica's outdoor storage. And with the only monster being Armed Skeletons, many adventurers may not even need the Monster Magnetism Perk or Monster Magnetism Cloak to harvest here safely.

Lilacs

Just north of the outdoor storage, then west of the Desert Pines boat.

Mugwort

A short walk to the outdoor storage.

Mullein

Nightshade

Several locations, short walk due to small map and outside storage.

Just north of storage in a flower pot.

Ogre Toes

Valley of the Dwarves Gold Mines is the place for Ogre Toes in Seredia. However, they are on the second floor, so you do have to deal with Female Orcs.

Just outside storage to the west. Very close.

Poison Ivy

North of storage, just a bit east of the north-east teleportal pad as you enter Forest of the Fall.

Directly west of the outdoor storage, past the windmill, next to a rock by the water just before you reach the white fenced area with roses and other flowers. Very short walk.

Poppies

Short walk to poppies outside gold cave entrance from outdoor storage.

Quartz - Blue Quartz - Rose Quartz

The rose quartz is somewhat hidden behind a fallen brick at [173,92]. Use the Nordcarn storage. The quartz is at NC city entrance. The blue quartz is in the center of Nordcarn.

The Blue Quartz is on the far eastern wall past the last patch of Emeralds. It's a good alternative to Nordcarn.

Red Currents

Hop the boat to VotD outdoor storage. Much faster than going to Desert Pines storage.

Just a short walk to the outdoor storage.

Red Rose

Just east of storage next to the building by the corn field. This is very close to the PV storage, and you can even leave the storage window open.

Following the path south of storage, you will find red roses at the base of a tree east of the path (just across the red snapdragons at the rock). This is very close to the VotD storage, and you can even leave the storage window open.

Northwest of storage against a tree. Somewhat hidden by another bush, but it's there.

Red Snapdragons

Following the path south of storage, you will find red snapdragons beside a large rock on the west side the path (just across from the red roses at the tree). This is very close to the VotD storage, and you can even leave the storage window open.

Walk directly east from the door and you'll find the Red Snapdragons first. Only thing is that you have to go inside to drop it off into storage. Leonard stalks this area as well.

Just east of outdoor storage against the edge of the map. Don't even need to close the storage interface.

Ruby

Close to storage and with the worst monsters being Phantom Warriors (who will ignore you at defense 26), this cave is the prime locations on Seridia for harvesting rubies.

The small ruby cave in southwest forest is the best walk to storage. Note a hobgoblin lives on the map, and Leonard frequents the forest.

Rue

Just south of the storage behind a rock wall.

A quick walk to the storage.

Sapphire

This cave is close to storage and has almost all the ingredients for Water Essences in it, except for Blue Lupine, which is found just outside the Portland entrance.

Best place on C2, since all of the others are in secret locations far from storage or are not harvestable.

Silver Ore

Use the South Cave and take the boat to the silver (it is about 10 seconds faster than using the north entrance). Note that you need a defense of 26 to harvest safely without a Monster Magnetism Cape.

Sulfur

Though the entrance to the caves is a secret, this cave is very close to Viorica's outdoor storage. And the with the only monster being Armed Skeletons, many adventurers may not even need the Monster Magnetism Perk or Monster Magnetism Cloak to harvest here safely.

To achieve this time, you must use the VotD storage. From VotD storage, take the boat to Desert Pines, and walk south to the teleport. When you appear at the west end of Evergreen Woods, walk southeast to the Crystal Caverns entrance. After harvesting, use "#beam me" to return to VotD storage (01:20).

Sunflower

A short walk to the outdoor storage.

Swamp Candles

If you can safely get there and aren't prone to being attacked by Male Goblins, Naralik is the absolute best place for these, with swamp candles only a few steps directly south of storage, along the water.

The outdoor storage is just north of the harvest location, also on the west side of the river. A good alternative for those who aren't safe in Naralik.

Directly south of storage, by a pole at the docks. Note hobgoblins and more roam this map.

Tiger Lilly

A short walk to the outdoor storage.

A quick walk to the outdoor storage.

Toadstool

Behind storage next to a tree. Although you need to walk inside the building, this is by far the closest to storage. There is the worry of Leonard at night, otherwise there are no aggressive creatures on this map.

Unlike in White Stone, there are no roaming monsters to worry about for those with low a/d. And the outdoor storage is just west over the river.

Tree Mushroom

A short walk to the outdoor storage. For a cool trick, take one more step after you approach the tree.

Turquoise

Like cinnabar, these caves in northwest Glacmor are your quickest option, using the Irinveron storage (and the teleport spots in Irinveron leading to and from the north Glacmor exit).

Valerian

A quick walk to the storage.

Vegetables

Use VotD outdoor storage. You can leave storage window open for extra quick deposit.

Only 10 seconds away from storage.

Wheat

Right beneath the Crafting School in White Stone. Use the teleportal to get to the outdoor storage quickly.

Directly north of Zirak storage.

White Asiatic Lilly

A very, quick walk to the outdoor storage.

A quick walk to the outdoor storage.

A short walk to the outdoor storage. Beware hobgoblins and other lesser roaming creatures.

A short walk to the outdoor storage.

White Chanterelle

A short walk to the outdoor storage.

Wood Branches

Several very good locations for these, but these are the best for stocking large amounts for your ashes needs. All have branches only a few steps away from storage.

Only 2-3 steps east of storage (slightly in the woods heading in the direction of the castle). Warning: Gargoyles can be troublesome for lower level harvesters at night.

Directly south of storage, on the opposite side of the wall. An only slightly longer walk than the other options, but this is the best place if you are a newer player concerned about your safety in the other locations.

Only 2-3 steps north, outside the storage. This one, unlike the other three, has the disadvantage of an inside storage, slowing things down a bit requiring map changes and clicking on the storage NPC with each trip.

Only 2-3 steps east of storage. Warning: Lenny can be troublesome for lower level harvesters at night.

Wormwood

A short walk to the outdoor storage.

A quick walk to the storage.

Yarrow

A short walk to the storage.

Yellow Rose

A short walk to the storage.

A short walk to the outdoor storage.

Alchemy

Earth Essence

The cave is just a short walk from the storage, with Sulphur and Coal deposits are just a few steps from each other. All you need to bring is Swamp Candles, Food, Leather Gloves and Pickaxes.

Energy Essence

Outside Crystal Caverns Northern entrance you can find Tiger Lillies and inside are Iron Ore and Silver Ore. You only need to bring pickaxes and plenty of food to eat while you are harvesting and mixing.

Warning: You will need Monster Magnetism Perk, Monster Magnetism Cloak or a defense of at least 86 (the ignore level for Feros) to use this mine. The east side of the mine has Iron Ore and Silver Ore are just a few steps from each other. Using the Palon Vertas storage, you can grab Tiger Lillies in two places on the walk up to Bethel, then bag mix in the mine. Even with Feros ignoring you, you may need either Monster Magnetism Perk or bring Monster Magnetism Cloak for the brief time in Bethel, if Desert Chimerans still attack you.

Fire Essence

This cave contains food like Vegetables on a box, Fruits behind the same box, Toadstools and everything you need to make fire essences. The cave is inside Melinis city, so it is safe. The coordinates for the cave are [130,190]. The closest storage is Hazardel, so bring essences for the Teleport to Range Spell.

This subterranean city is a good source for these essences. You can find Sulfur, and Roses and Red Snapdragons are available in the Garden Room inside North Gunda. This map contains Fruits and nearby there are Toadstools. Watch out for the hobgoblins upstairs but there are no creatures in Zirakgunda.

Health Essence

In Morcraven Marsh, harvest Chrysanthemum between the South cave entrance and the Naralik exit. Enter the South (Gold Ore) cave, then take the boat across to the Silver Ore and mix.

Life Essence

Enter the underground through the waterfall. In the northeast side of the underground are Silver Ore and Sunflowers are not many steps apart. You can also find some Toadstools in the underground, if you need food. Warning: hobgoblins spawn at the Silver Ore and the cave contains armed female orcs, armed male orcs and a single ogre that could get to this area, so its not perfectly safe - keep a Monster Magnetism Cloak handy or have the Monster Magnetism Perk.

From Naralik storage, harvest sunflowers west of Ardur the bookseller. Go to Morcraven Marsh, enter the South (Gold Ore) cave and take the boat across to the Silver Ore to mix.

Use the Morcraven Marsh storage, harvest sunflowers north of storage, then head into the cave.

Matter Conglomerate

All ingredients for Matter Conglomerates are found on this map. Swamp candles are found outside while Coal, Iron, Sulfur and all three types of quartz are inside. Bring some pickaxes and food to make as many as you can carry. This map contains Fruits and nearby there are Toadstools. Watch out for the hobgoblins upstairs but there are no creatures in Zirakgunda.

Matter Essence

Enter Crystal Caverns by the Southern entrance, and go left (south). As you go round the corner, you will find an outcrop of Iron Ore. Immediately to the south contained within a stone circle, can be found a fairly impressive growth of Quartz which is surrounded by both Blue and Rose Quartz. You only need to bring a few pickaxes and plenty of food to eat while you are harvesting and mixing.

It is far more efficient to create the essences here, than to gather the ingredients separately. A matter essence weighs only 1 EMU, but the ingredients weigh 10 EMU.

As a bonus, try using the 'pointy finger' on the Quartz for a nice surprise.

This subterranean city is a good source for these essences, as you can find all the Quartz in one location and the Iron Ore is not very far away. This map contains Fruits and nearby there are Toadstools. Watch out for the hobgoblins upstairs but there are no creatures in Zirakgunda.

Gather up the Iron Ore in the steel cave and mule it over to the city center where you'll find a plank with all forms of quartz within easy reach. Just sit right down with your bag. Then take everything to South Redmoon via the boat ride or to Hazardel storage. Be sure to bring your Monster Magnetism Cloak or have the Monster Magnetism Perk.

Spirit Essence

From Morcraven Marsh storage bring Mercury and food, enter the South (Gold Ore) cave. Silver Ore is a boat trip away, mix either at gold or silver deposit.

You can mine the Cinnabar on this map to create the Mercury. Harvest the Gold Ore from the Gold Cave. Use the boat for Kusamura Jungle, where there is a Silver Ore deposit.

Water Essence

Everything you need to make water essence is very close to this cave. Simply bring a few pickaxes along and something to eat. Blue Lupines are in Portland just north of the cave entrance. Blue Star Flowers are inside the cave, just north of the cave exit to Portland. Sapphires are south of the cave exit to Portland. You can find Blue Quartz in front of the cave entrance to White Stone City.

Iron Bar and Steel Bar

Steel Bar cave is in the northeast of Melinis. It contains Coal and Iron Ore close to each other. The cave is outside Melinis city, so its not safe to go to - use a Monster Magnetism Cloak or have the Monster Magnetism Perk unless you want to fight fluffies and desert chimerans. The closest storage is the Hazardel hazardous storage entrance to the north of the city. A good way to make the bars is to first go to the FE cave in Melinis to make fire essences and harvest food - about half FE and half food - and then continue to the Steel Bar cave, making the bars from scratch.

This subterranean city is a good place to make these bars. You can find Iron Ore with Coal close by. This map contains Fruits and nearby there are Toadstools. Watch out for the hobgoblins upstairs but there are no creatures in Zirakgunda.

Fighting

Rats

Due to it's rat population, this cave is referred to as the "IP rat cave".

Deer

In the Evergreen Woods to the north are many Deer spawns.

Male Goblins

Just off to the side of the main entrance is an area where two goblins spawn, and there are several more deeper in the caves.

Skeletons

The upper level has two Skeleton spawns, without any other monsters, making it perfect for lower level players. Several spawns of both unarmed skeletons and armed skeletons can be found on the cave's lower level. Phantom Warrior has been moved so is not a danger unless you take ladder down to section it is in.

Female Orcs

  • Valley of the Dwarves Temple (C1)

This a popular place to sharpen defense skills while picking up some useful items like Enhanced Wooden Shields, pickaxes, staffs and VotD rings. There are multiple spawns of Female Orcs in the Garden and the Maze. Just be prepared to fight if you dare enter the temple.

Male Ogres

It has a single ogre spawn, but there is also a troll spawn in there which makes sure this training session is going to earn you good money. Plus, it's rather close to a storage (NC storage) and still not as widely known as Vermor Castle.

Right at the east entrance to the mines, there are three ogre spawns. It's impossible to train on all three, but it is possible to use the first two spawns as a double spawn. Beware of the cyclops that also roam those mines; they rarely come close to this area, but there is a chance.

Melinis secret triple spawn ogre cave always has a fighter bashing the ogre's head. You need an Monster Magnetism Perk to get there.

Potions

Refined Vegetal Mixture

Naturally, you'll have to harvest the gypsum elsewhere. Most of the plant ingredients lie on the northern part of SRM. You'll have to cross the bridge for the Poppies. The occasional dragon invasion and Leonard are the only worries.

Yarrow-Wormwood-Tulip Extract

Yarrow is north of the storage in a pot. Wormwood is north west of storage. Tulips lie just outside storage in a pot as described above.

Nightshade-Mullein-Dandelion Extract

Nightshade is in the pot next to the tulips outside storage. Mullein is in the long patch northwest of storage. Dandelion is everywhere, but the closest lies just outside storage.

Poison Ivy-Henbane-Poppies Extract

Poison Ivy lies against the back of the storage building outside. Henbane lies northwest of storage in the long patch. Poppies lies across the bridge against the first building on the left.

Red Currents-Blue Berries-Rue Extract

Red Currents and Blue Berries are northeast of storage in the little cemetary looking area. Rue is in the long patch northwest of storage.

White Chanterelle-Ogre Toes-Tree Mushroom Extract

White Chanterelle can be found northwest of storage and just west of the long patch. Ogre Toes are just west of storage. Tree Mushroom are just north of storage on the tree.
